Aldershot Cobras   1    Fleet Spurs    2

Another excellent game from the Under 7’s this week which saw a hard battle against Aldershot, if a game was won on possession only, we would have been 3 or 4 nil up at half time. Poor pitch conditions around the Aldershot goal along with good goal keeping and strong defending helped ensure that Fleet didn’t score in the first half. A break past our defence, saw Aldershot cross past the keeper and take the lead. A half time the score line of Aldershot 1 - 0 Fleet Spurs didn’t reflect the play, or the determination that Spurs had put in.

The second half didn’t start as strongly and the first five minutes saw Aldershot attacking with strength for the first time in the game. Good defending from Aidan Lai saw Spurs turning the game with some big clearances from defence and from the goal keeper. The rest of the game belonged to Spurs, with an excellent midfield performance from Mathew Farmiloe helping to push Spurs in to the attack. A great striking combination in Euan Champion and Jake Goddard saw a number of excellent passes across the goal panicking the Aldershot keeper, and as seemed inevitable at this point a tremendous strike from Jake Goddard saw the ball in to the back of the net. The attacking partnership didn’t sit back and within a few minutes a similar move saw Jake Goddard passing to Euan Champion for a second shot in to the back of the net. The excellent attacking performance from both Jake Goddard and Euan Champion won the game for Fleet Spurs, and the Player of the Week trophy for Jake Goddard.

Final Score Aldershot Cobra’s 1 - 2 Fleet Spurs U7’s.

Congratulations boys on a well deserved win.
