Fleet Spurs    0      Headley Piranhas   6

An exciting game today, with a number of lessons to be learnt, once again we saw a lot of goals against us, most of which were scored on the break, catching our defence out of position. Headley played a very good positional game, with some excellent marking, closing down our attack very quickly. A half time score of 3 - 0 seemed a little harsh, in a 50/50 period. The second half saw Spurs stepping up the play a lot, with a lot more movement in the midfield, and generally more possession. Ultimately though, our positional play still left us stranded and even though Jake Brown had an excellent second half in goal, Headley still managed to squeeze another 3 balls in to the net. Some excellent shots from Ben Shefras, Jake Goddard and Robbie Coupland could have evened up the score a little, but luck wasn’t on our side, with Jake’s best shot hitting the side netting, Ben’s slipping just past the post and Robbie’s bouncing back from the post. I think today we were out played in a positional game, but at an individual level we were on a par. MoM to Aidan Lai for a hard and consistent effort in defence.
