Hartley Wintney     2     Fleet Spurs    2

A tremendous game again today, Hartley Wintney have a good squad of strong players and always look a little intimidating, but there was no sign of intimidation today. Spurs played good attacking football from the very beginning, with the midfield doing a great job at feeding the ball forward, Ben Shefras played a stunning role as striker both feeding balls across the net and belting balls at the goal. One such shot just dropping over the bar almost had Spurs taking the lead, in the end however an break away attack from the Hartley Wintney forwards saw a ball slip past the Spurs Keeper. The Spurs attack struck back, but the goal seemed elusive despite a number of good attempts from Ben Shefras, Jake Brown and Daniel Barden, but with some five minutes before half time Spurs were awarded a penalty which Ben Shefras slammed in to the back of the net.

The second half saw a good 7 or 8 minutes of pure defence from Spurs, caught constantly on the back foot but defending very well, with such continuous pressure it seemed just a matter of time before Hartley Wintney would score, a stunning performance from Robbie Coupland made that prospect much less likely though, though finally a small defensive blunder from Spurs left HW slotting the ball in to the net to once more take the lead. Fleet seemed to get their heads back together at this point and were on the offensive more and more, Ben Shefras re-joined the forward force, alongside Jake Goddard, and really started to worry HW, an excellent solo run round three defenders finished with a cracking shot saw Spurs equalise with about 4 minutes to go. The last four minutes saw Spurs constantly on the attack, and coming close to clenching a win on numerous occasions but unfortunately that winning goal managed to stay elusive and the game finished with a 2 - 2 score line.
