A great game for the lads,
in horrible weather conditions. Excellent performances all
round, but two breakaway attacks left Fleet going in to half
time 2 goals down.
Yateley scored a third goal
early on in the second half, but Fleet were rallying despite
the weather gradually getting worse, an excellent
performance, and a cracking goal from Jake Brown won him the
Player of the Match award and brought the score line
to Fleet 1 - 3 Yateley. Ben Shefras pushed and pushed for
goal and about half way through the second half was rewarded
for his efforts, closing the score line to Fleet 2 - 3
Yateley. It looked like Fleet might equalise, but in the
end Yateley got behind our defence once more and scored in
the final 2 minutes.
The performance from
Fleet at the individual level was excellent, with mentions
being deserved by both Joel Easters and Joel Douglas for
their hard work in defence, and excellent performances from
Daniel Barden, Euan Champion, Aidan Lai and Robbie Coupland,
showing a good grasp of positional play and feeding some
excellent passes to their team mates.
Well done Fleet, the
improvement you all make on a weekly basis is a treat to
see.
